The Selection - Kiera Cass Actual rating: 2.5 starsI really liked the concept, and I liked the way this book held my attention throughout, but with no real cliffhanger (well, I thought there was no cliffhanger. I may be wrong.), which was dreadfully annoying. Most of the 35 girls we begin with don't get named at all, or only until they are sent home -______- That really pissed me off, but oh well, those girls were probably just as superficial as everyone else. Something else that also peeved me off was the caste system; if you are a 5 and supposedly not well off, why the hell do you have a fridge? Also, it is mentioned once that America's family once were really poor at a time so they had to choose whether to keep their electricity or their food. WTF?! Most poor people wouldn't be able to afford electricity!I was disapointed with the love triangle. I mean, is it impossible nowadays for a YA book not to have a love triangle?! They piss me off!But . . . I don't want to admit this, but I did enjoy The Selection. Enough to give it 2.5 stars anyhow. But God, I want that dress on the front cover so bad. If I had it I'd probably do this all day long...
